USAID trains exporters on quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001

USAID’s Regional Economic Cooperation Project in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan will hold a three-day training seminar on the Development of ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The participants of the seminar will be members of the Export Partnership Groups of the REC Project and representatives of the Association of Business Logistics of Uzbekistan.  The training will be held on March 12-14, in Dedeman Hotel in Tashkent. The purpose of the training seminar is to train entrepreneurs to develop and implement ISO 9001:2008 quality management systems (QMS).
 
In the course of the training the participants will learn the QMS concept, QMS main principals, ISO 9001:2008 requirements, stages for QMS development and implementation, etc. Moreover, the participants will study the best world practices of QMS implementation and certification.
 
Viktor Prodedovich, REC Project’s Chief of Party, noted: «The task of our Project is to assist exporters. One of the directions of such assistance is training.  In this case, it is a training of exporters on QMS development.  In this direction we work in unison with the Government of Uzbekistan, which envisages certain measures stimulating implementation of the QMS in local enterprises. QMS is a management mechanism that provides for ensuring of product quality. In turn, ensuring product quality and its continuous improvement provide for business prosperity. Hope that the knowledge and skills acquired at this seminar will result in such prosperity”.
