International Conference of Entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan.


USAID’s Regional Economic Cooperation (REC) Project took part in the International Conference of Entrepreneurs which was held in the National Tourist zone “AVAZA” in Turkmenistan on April 19-20, 2016.
Representatives of ministries and state agencies of Turkmenistan, export promotion agencies, manufacturing and trade companies, academic and banking organizations, entrepreneurs and international experts attended the event. The total number of participants of the conference exceeded 700 people from 27 countries. During the conference participants addressed issues related to private sector and its role in the development of the industrial sector; foreign investment and creation of joint ventures; the role of private sector in agriculture and processing industry; studied international experience and advanced hi-tech technologies. In addition, participants also discussed issues related to the development of transport infrastructure and logistics.
Viktor Prodedovich, Chief of Party of the REC Project, told about positive results of the REC Project activities and drew attention of the audience to the forthcoming Central Asian Trade Forum to be held in Almaty on September 7-8, 2016. «The objective of Central Asian Trade Forum is to increase the export competitiveness of high value-added sectors, such as horticulture, textile, transport and logistics, and to enhance regional trade within Central Asian countries and with South Asia, and markets beyond»,- noted Viktor Prodedovich in his speech at the conference.
