In recent years, the Government of Uzbekistan has provided significant support to horticulture, which is a vital component of the national economy and a subsector that has grown at a robust pace. Uzbekistan is a major agricultural producer, both regionally and globally, and the horticulture subsector has been a source of economic growth and offers an opportunity to sustain the recent gains in agricultural productivity.

Conference participants will discuss how to improve production and export development of horticultural products. As part of these discussions, participants will examine issues such as: regulations for export of horticultural products; opportunities for exporting fresh fruit and vegetables, dried fruits, and nuts from Uzbekistan to the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union; international retail chains’ requirements for horticultural products; Global Gap certification; etc. In addition, the event will feature business-to-business meetings of Uzbek exporters of horticultural products with buyers from Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia.
